Honey One BBQ   

Robert Adams Sr. first made a name for himself on the West Side for his smoky, barbecued fixings when he catered for various reunions and church functions. Then he opened Honey 1 BBQ, a tiny, carry-out joint that quickly caught on in the community. Its popularity inspired Adams and his family to move the operations to a larger location on the North Side. In its new Bucktown home, right off the Kennedy Expressway, Honey 1 BBQ features a larger, eight-foot smoker, seating for 40 customers and an expanded menu. In addition to their specially seasoned ribs, rib tips and chicken, the restaurant offers turkey legs, hot links, burgers and pulled-pork sandwiches. Simple sides include fries, cheese fries, potato salad and cole slaw. Though the setting is no-frills, Adams anticipates keeping customers lingering with plans for a plasma screen tuned into sports and news as well as music. BYOB.
