With so many wonderful dining options in River West, a quiet and quaint spot such as this little storefront can be easily overlooked. Iguana Cafe, a cozy cafe that's great for groups, serves up some of the best hot sandwiches in town. Though the wait staff is a bit inexperienced, the food certainly makes up it. Wrap your hands around hefty sandwiches like the meatloaf, tuna or Greek (with feta cheese, baked zucchini, cucumber, tomato, oregano, olive oil, Dijon and oregano). Creative patrons may also make their own sandwiches, and can choose from such fillings as honey-roasted ham, hard salami and bacon. Or if you need something heartier, dig into the homemade spinach pie or the tiropita (homemade cheese puff with feta cheese & homemade pastry dough). For dessert, make your own crepe. Choose a filling: Nutella chocolate, strawberry or grape jelly, honey, strawberries, bananas, coconut, walnuts, almonds, mixed nuts, powdered sugar, cinnamon, ice cream or crushed cookies. Located right around the corner from dance club Funky Buddha Lounge, Iguana is a nice place to grab a bite before or after the party.
