Got a craving for a quick taco? Open 24 hours, this neighborhood standby is a comfortable, high- quality restaurant several steps above most other 24-hour establishments for a late night snack or early breakfast. While snacks-on-the-run are readily available at the more casual dining counter, you can also opt for the larger, lushly decorated dining room with a full bar and stage for live music and DJs on select nights. Family- run and located in the largely Mexican and Puerto Rican West Town/Humboldt Park area, Lazo Tacos is a local favorite. But it also appeals to a more diverse crowd as a great place for a satisfying snack after late partying. -- Kari Lydersen

Not as good as it used to be
By Dmorales1207 on 07/10/2008
I remember when I used to go there after a night of partying, during the mid-90s, and it was excellent. I recently went there on our way home during mid June of 2008, and the burritos were edible, but nowhere as delish as they used to be. Otherwise it is a good option afterhours.

Worst mexican food we've ever had and believe me we now mexican food.I ordered enchiladas and the chicken was uneatable:greasy skins, dark meat, piece of sharp bone.Terrible rice and beans.Same with tacos. The worst culinary experience of year 2003.Stuff is very friendly but we will NEVER go back to this place. Thanks G-d Margie's ice cream shop is close so we could go there and forget Lazo's food.
