The SceneThe exquisite attention to detail in the remodeling of this former Lincoln Avenue funeral home extends from the lobby's mosaic tiling to the restrained Celtic designs in the second story leaded glass windows. A stylish central bar looking straight out of an upscale Dublin hotel is flanked by a formal dining room, with another upstairs. For seating, choose a relaxed banquette or a spacious white tablecloth-covered four top.The FoodThe restaurant's contemporary Irish menu reimagines the traditional with flair, like the crumbly lamb sausage appetizer roasted with fingerling potatoes and Morbier cheese on a cedar plank. A crispy layer of white cheddar covers thick onion soup flavored with the light, malty taste of Guinness. The shepherd's pie is a stewy mix of tender diced lamb, crusted potatoes, and caramelized onions. Flaky grilled trout comes on a bed of braised cabbage with a side of, yes, more potatoes.

nice atmosphere
By Kjstcoyle on 05/30/2008
we went on a Sunday evening. we enjoyed the atmosphere, after we asked if the music to be changed to something more "Iriish". 2 of us had the fish and chips - my husband who grew up in Ireland and loves fish and chips only had a few bites and couldn't eat it, even though he was quite hungry. The other guest also ate very little but did not want to complain because we were celebrating an engagement. The waitress picked up the almost untouched plate without a word. When she returned I said that those meals should be removed from our bill and she complied. I had a vegetarian dish that was very bland. I'd only go there for drinks and appetizers.

Can't Miss!

This chef just does not miss the mark. Best cedar planked salmon ever. Cuke soup is superlative. Steak is tops. Duck is flawless. Fish and Chips salad also got high marks. Varied and interesting menu. The sides/sauces receive just the same attention to taste and quality and presentation. Solid professional service. Good wine list. Appropriately priced. And the place looks good, too. Clean, big bar and comfortable seating away from the bar.
