Rate and Write a Review The name gives it away. ''Spoke'' evokes bike. ''Twisted'' says mean bikes. This is a biker's bar, no doubt. What saves it from intimidating guests or simply being ridiculous is the tongue-in-cheek attitude it has towards its own behavior. This makes it an entertaining experience for anyone, even those not of the black leather persuasion. The food is honest bar fare, cooked from scratch for the most part. The burgers are great. The half pound burgers are called ''Fatboys'' here and are served on a garlic toasted egg bun with a list of toppings you can add to make the burger your own. If you're feeling particularly carnivorous you can even order a ''Double Fatty.'' Weekends feature ''Biker Brunch,'' and on weekdays at midnight they offer ''Smut & Eggs.'' There is a range of beers, again not exactly true to the biker bar image. The list regularly changes, but always includes some standard favorites (Guinness, Bass, Harp), and some more eclectic brews. In the summers Twisted Spoke sponsors a softball league. (Again, not exactly what you would expect from a biker place.) It is a family event, and an example of the bar's personality is found on the league fliers: ''Everyone loves to have fun unless it gets in the way of winning.'' Twisted Spoke does carry a bit of a gruff attitude, but it's more for the sake of appearances than anything else. If you've always wanted to go into a biker bar, but were afraid that you would get beat up, here's your chance. Twisted Spoke is a friendly place that doesn't hold your non-hog owning status against you.TIP: Have breakfast in the middle of the night, and watch the featured stag film of the evening.
