Longworth's Tavern   

Even after several owners, a brief closing and multiple personalities, Longworth's continues to thrive in the heart of Mount Adams as a restaurant, neighborhood pub and hip dance club. By (sunny) day, the streetside patio fills up with business folks who dine on club sandwiches, steak hoagies, wrap sandwiches and gourmet pizzas. Happy hour turns the tavern into a hangout for young professionals, with drink specials and munchies like wings, quesadillas, poppers and fries, plus casual dinner options such as penne and sausage or fettuccine Alfredo. Evenings attract drinkers and dancers -- the former to the main-floor pub and patio, the latter to the upstairs dance club, where DJs spin on the weekends for a twentysomething crowd. A favorite libation? The house's famous Shady Toledo, made with Crown Royal, Absolut Citron, Blue Curacao, Bacardi 151 and sour mix. Some of Cincy's finest cover bands play here, too, drawing everyone from yuppies in their mid-twenties to folks in their forties. It's tough to be all things to all people, yet Longworth's never fails -- not by a long shot.
