Rate and Write a Review High atop Mount Adams, a Cincinnati historical treasure has been reinvented to take on a new role in its 120-plus-year history. Formerly Rookwood Pottery, Porkopolis has arrived offering up appetizers like meatballs and stuffed mushrooms, sandwiches, pasta, meatloaf, and, of course, the namesake: ribs and an army of pork chop choices. The inside still has the kilns intact, which dominate the restaurant from floor to tilted-back-head ceiling. As with any building constructed during the administration of Rutherford B. Hayes, the inside layout is quirky and craggy, with tables tucked away in hidden corners or circling a kiln. There are three "dining rooms" inside several hollowed-out kilns -- actually, it's just a single table inside, but it's still cool to look straight up and see daylight as if you're in a chimney. A full, curved bar serves up happy-hour specials, and a pool table in the loft offers an interesting bird's-eye view. Where else can you shoot a game and drink a draft with a 25-foot kiln to your right?
