In a lot of ways, Blue Ash Chili is the typical family-owned Cincinnati-area chili parlor. The homemade chili is meaty but not too spicy and served in the traditional way -- cheese coneys or three, four and five ways. The restaurant has the feel of a small-town diner and the dining room and carryout line are usually packed with regulars. But in a lot of ways, it breaks with tradition. Many customers come in for the hardy double-deckers, and breakfast is also available. There's a more formal dinner menu that includes burgers and chicken, and unlike most area chili parlors, Blue Ash Chili has a liquor license so customers can have a beer, wine or cocktail to wash down their meal. This is a neighborhood favorite that has does a good job of drawing people from outside the neighborhood since it opened in 1969.
