That's because the famous O'Bryonville bakery has been pleasing the palates of the city's pickiest brides with its distinctive opera-cream wedding cakes for decades. However, you don't have to be an invited guest to sample the goods: Many fine restaurants serve the torte as a delicious endcap to a fine meal. Or, if you've just got to have your fix right away, pop into the tucked-away bakery and order a whole cake -- or cookies, scones and other pastries -- for yourself. "Bonbon" also features its own unique tea room adjacent to the bakery, where distinguished ladies lunch on fruit, cheese and finger sandwiches while sipping one of more than two dozen world-class teas. The folks behind this shabby-chic tearoom recommend reservations, as tea plates are prepared fresh and the dining room is cozy (read: not exactly sprawling).
