Madonna, Elvis, the Beatles, Michael Jackson and Pink Floyd have all performed here -- not too shabby for an arena in Cincy. Over the course of its illustrious history, this 25,000-square foot old-style arena has hosted some of the biggest names in show business. That said, these days everyone in Cincinnati thinks of one thing when the Gardens is mentioned: duck season. The Mighty Ducks have attracted a large local following in the world of AHL hockey. With a seating capacity of 11,000, the Gardens remains a popular place to take in some hockey, college basketball, amateur and professional boxing, pro wrestling and a variety of other events. There's lots of cool stuff for the younger crowd as well, including ice shows, circuses, Sesame Street, and yes, Barney. For its 50th anniversary, the Gardens underwent a mini-overhaul, making it look better than ever, complete with a fresh paintjob, landscaping and new concessions and restrooms. Take a walk through the Legends Museum for a trip down memorabilia lane. -- Al Domeyko

I have been going to the gardens since 1960 for different shows. Yes the place is old, but it still works for mid sized shows. They are not trying to bring in 50k people, they are just hosting nice family shows there. Nice place, easy parking, good people.
