Rate and Write a Review Hippies, punks, young professionals, artists, old locals, business folks and suburban moms on girls' night out -- you'll see them all at The Comet. This popular Northside bar has found success in its down-to-earth style -- from its laid-back attitude, to its simple menu, to the music. The two-room restaurant and bar offers a menu of modified Mexican fare including a big-as-your-head burrito that is famous city-wide. Folks come for a late-night munch or a taste of the place's homemade salsa, washed down with Harp or Guinness from the tap or one of the dozens of bottled imported brews. The place is rarely overly crowded except during the popular Sunday-night bluegrass performances, a staple for folk and bluegrass fans. Occasionally, the place hosts other local acts, ranging from folk to hardcore punk. Music buffs young and old will appreciate the city's most diverse jukebox, which spins everything from '80s punk to classic rock.
