Self-defined as "eclectic, contemporary cuisine," the menu at Daveed's in Mt. Adams is renowned as one of the city's most adventurous and exciting. Chef and owner David Cook named the spot after his kitchen moniker when he worked at the city's most famous French restaurant, Maisonette. His innovative cuisine fuses many French flavors (he never misses an opportunity to integrate fois gras) with California flair and Asian influences. The result is fresh, unique and unforgettable fare. The cozy setting, attentive and knowledgeable servers, and orchestrated pace of each course are the epitome of a special occasion restaurant. Seeking something truly spectacular? Call a few days ahead and request the special tasting menu. David will prepare six (or so) courses of smaller "tastings" of special dishes, each paired with a two-ounce "tasting" of an appropriate wine or champagne. Just make certain one or two of the tastings includes treats from the in-house pastry chef. Now that's decadent!

Cannot go wrong to spend a special evening at Daveed's. Food and service are superior. Try the French Cosmo martini, Sea Scallops appetizer, Lamb Chop entree, and the Chocolate Fantasia for dessert -- out of this world! All in all my favorite dining experience in Cincy.

Dined with a friend to celebrate (early) St. Nick Day. We began with the ravioli appetizer which was delicious, and both of us chose the lamb chops as our main course. They were excellent as well as beautifully presented. My dessert was "Chocolate Winter Wonderland," which I'd heartily recommend. Very quiet, nice ambiance, and the service wasn't intrusive. Yes, it's pricey, and the portions are smaller, but you want to have MORE courses, right? They make an excellent martini, by the way, and no smoking, either, Kudos to David Cook!
