Located off Montgomery Road, Jalapenos is a colorful little place that you just can't miss. The happy interior is fit for a fiesta: walls of lime green, sky blue and hot pink, along with a full bar and two dining rooms. Everything is homemade, and the menu is bountiful with appetizers, soups, lunch specials, vegetarian dishes, combos and more. Look for such diverse items as Huachinango a la Veracruzana (baby red snapper) to steak Mexicano (a grilled 16-ounce T-bone). For the tykes, there's a kids' menu with Mexican pizza, burgers, fries and chicken fingers. The staff lauds the margaritas, which they say are the best around. Of course, they also hype the food, which they call authentic -- as authentic as the slice-of-life black-and-white photos of Mexican daily life adorning those neon walls.

Used to be good
By SarahMargi on 07/04/2008
We ate here many times and loved it. The last time we went there were several noticable changes, like frozen food preparation. Just aweful. Worst meal I have had in years. I am very dissapointed at the decline of what once used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant. Now, tastes like dog food!!!

No Spice, No Service
By MyMy1971 on 06/29/2008
I have always wanted to try this place and I convinced my husband to go. What a HUGE MISTAKE, the service was terrible, and the food even worse, no taste and for the price no portions. I will NEVER eat here again!

By proudestmonkey58 on 09/06/2007
I have never had a dish here that I didn't like. By no means have I ever found anything to be bland, after eating here I can hardly eat at other mexican resurants, because I find them boring.

Great Food!
By lilliendave3 on 03/02/2007
The Bland party below are not to swift in knowing that a true mexican chip is not supposed to be seasoned. Go back to your salty american way of eating and put you some salt on your chips if thats the way you like them.
