One of Cincinnati's most noted restaurateurs, Jeff Ruby does steaks. Serious steaks. This grand 1940s steakhouse right across from the Aronoff Center is a lively spot, a great place for pre-theater dinners or for power business meals and meetings. Heavy on the hardwood, the restaurant uses beveled glass, marble, copper and plenty of pictures of celebrities to make the spot shine. One of the restaurant's undeniable high points is the aging room, where tasty cuts of beef and lamb hang during their dry-aging period. Enjoy that dry-aged steak with bearnaise sauce, garlic butter or any other number of delectable ways. And the opulence doesn't stop with the meat. Side dishes are so large they need to be split with other diners (sweet potatoes Anna, skillet hash browns and onions and more). In addition to steaks the restaurant offers several pork, chicken and seafood options, with Caesar and Broadway salads for those desiring slightly lighter fare. -- Nancy Caine

It's only a name!

Ruby's - everyone thinks because it's associated with Jeff Ruby then it must be great, but it's no where near that. Food is fair, service is snobby and you need to take out a mortgage to pay the bill.

"Value" Challenged
By jb070272 on 05/09/2007
This is a restaurant living on its past glory. While my steak was good, it was no better than one I've had from restaurants at half the price. We were a party of six and some of the food was warm while other selections were hot. I believe they placed some of the food under heat lamps while preparig the rest of the food. The restroom (men's) could be cleaner.

Not as Good at Belterra
By dick1122 on 02/20/2007
We had a poor experience at JR at Belterra. The steaks were about average and the presentation poor with the plates not even heated. Lots of kissing-up by the service staff if you like that but don't go for the food.

Steak!!! My Favorite Food
By sherri2599 on 02/03/2007
Jeff Ruby's is the best! My husband took me to Jeff Ruby's for my birthday last July. I don't just like steak, I LOVE steak so I was on a mission to find the best steak I could and I found it here. The service was also incredible. I will say it was very pricey but every mouth watering bite was worth it. I think we will go for our anniversary that is coming up.
