If you're a night owl and you've just gotta have a slice of pizza, we've got two words for you: Lucy Blue. Vampires notwithstanding, lunch is not an option here: Opening time is 10PM -- yes, you read that right. Lucy Blue caters to the crowds meandering near the Main Street district, which is home to nearly a dozen nightclubs and bars. The place allows you to only order through a window -- there's no sit-down dining here -- and serves up New York style-pizza by the slice. Owner-operator Jim Thompson, who once cooked in New York, gets repeated compliments from former NYC residents about his pizza being the real thing. And we're seeing a little more of Lucy Blue: Aside from the original Mount Lookout location, there's also one in MainStrasse in Covington, with more locations planned. For those already in bed when this place starts cooking, here's an option: the Thursday buffet. From 11AM to 2PM, you can come for soup, salad and such gourmet pizzas as Greek, pesto, BLT and more. A golden opportunity to try some award-winning pizza that's going places, without having to stay up past your bedtime.
