Any good business plan requires lots and lots of research. Fortunately for beer lovers, local restaurateur Nick Sanders did his homework before opening Downtowns finest Scottish pub in 1997. The hopping spot in Cincys Backstage District offers dozens of fine British and Irish ales and stouts, plus numerous other imports. But the pay off to the customer comes in more than a lengthy beer list: Nicholsons offers a simple but reliable menu of upscale tavern fare, including the finest fish n chips in town. Cozy booths surround a busy bar where downtowners gather after work or before a show at the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Farther back, folks dine at linen covered tables near a fireplace or on one of the two small, urban patios. Seafood, steaks, and creative starters round out the menu.

Simply the best
By Chris410is on 06/21/2008
This little gem has the best beer and whiskey in CIncinnati. The beer sampler is by far the best deal at tge bar. For my dollar the fish and chips are the best in Cincy, but I almost never order them because the Fin and Haddie is to die for. Just trust me if you like fish just order this up, its so good you'll want to slap your mother.

Worst service ever had in my life. Would never go back! I will never recommend this to anyone. I'd advise against it.

The Best in Celtic Cuisine!
By sjoblues on 04/04/2000
Nicholson's Tavern & Pub is the next best thing to dining in the Scottish Highlands. The food is excellent, especially the Osso Bucco. The mashed potates are the best in Cincinnati. The Scotch selection is beyond compare, the staff is professional and friendly (and wear their kilts well!). The desserts are generous and delicious, the atmosphere is comfortable and classic.
