beware

Our family of four ate at the steak house last night. The soup tasted old and very strange. Most of us didn't eat it. Although the times we had eaten there and the food was good, this time it wasn't. Their tea is not freshly brewed. Most importantly, three of us experienced vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps after we arrived home in Weston. We are now afraid to eat there.

The cooks at the hibachis are great. They have fun and make sure their customers do, too. That does count. The waitstaff is lacking. I don't know if they just need to hire more staff or train them better. When business is slow everything's fine. When it's not quite, even, half full you can expect to wait to even be greated by your server. They're new to the concept of a full bar and have no bartender. The watstaff and management makes the drinks. I once ordered a gin and tonic and got, I think, a Jack and tonic (my friend had ordered Jack, we both got some sort of whiskey). For good sushi in the Land That International Cuisine Forgot I will be perfectly happy to put up with bad drinks and untrained/understaffed servers. However, they put bits of tempura in with any of their spicy rolls and seem to leave out the spice. The tempura overwhelms any bit of that delicate flavour inherenat to yellowtail or tuna and, even when ordered w/out the tempura a bell pepper would seem to be hotter. It will suffice for the complete lack of anything else Japanese but it doesn't compare to even a chain sushi place in a mall.

Excellent Restaurant

I had dinner there on New Years eve, 2003. It was the best experience I have had in Clarksburg/Bridgeport. Would recommend this to anyone but if you have little kids be aware that they will be scared if you sit at one of the grills but only for a little while. The food makes up for the kids being scared. Even my 3 year old grand daughter like it.
