With upbeat, grunge-around-the-edges pop music and soft, friendly casual clothes, this outpost of the vast Abercrombie & Fitch empire is a relaxing place to hang out. The goods include carpenter pants, khakis, jeans and fleece jackets. Pretty standard fare, you might think. And why is it that these clothes don't appear totally boring? Maybe it's the images from the company's ad campaign (buff shirtless male models and long-haired beauties entangled in leafy underbrush) pulling the wool (and 100-percent cotton) over your inner skeptic's eyes. Or maybe it's the pretty colors and generous fabrics. There's also perfume, jewelry and other groovy but mellow lifestyle additives to spice up the menu and provoke a shopping appetite. Whatever the reason, even the argyle sweaters look vaguely cool here.
