For a city known for its Browns, a new color has made a long-term mark in Cleveland at the House of Blues. Founded by actor and blues lover Dan Aykroyd, the club first opened in Cambridge, Mass., in 1992. Since then, many have come for the Mississippi Delta-style fare or its famous Sunday gospel brunch. But what has made this chain so popular is its capacity to feed the ears as well as the stomach. The Cleveland location, which anchors Downtown's East Fourth Street Project, has enough room for 1,100 concertgoers, and you can bet there isn't a bad spot in the house to see and hear the acts and enjoy the innovative happy hour. That includes a balcony that nearly hangs over the performers. Aside from the main concert hall, a smaller room allows for private parties, leisurely lounging and the occasional dance night. Expect a diverse cast of artists to take the stage. Within weeks of opening, Marilyn Manson, a reunited Raspberries, influential East Coast rapper Nas and ex-New Kid on the Block Jordan Knight all dotted the concert calendar. How's that for some bang for your buck?

made me a SAD birthday girl ;(
By loretabicicletta on 08/29/2009
I just hosted a birthday party at the House of Blues and I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Our server never smiled once and had such an attitude from the moment we got there even though we were a well behaved table of 6 AND a 19% gratuity was included in our bill. When we ordered our appetizer, it was at first delivered to the table next to us. Then all night, servers walked around with plates of food seemingly guessing as to which table it belonged. We were interrupted several times with question of "who had the cajun whatever" and it was never anyone at our table. The spinach dip was such a small portion it hardly filled the bottom of the bowl and the chips lacked salt and the salsa was seriously out of a jar from Save-a-lot. The corn bread was good - but the only vegetarian option were those listed above and a side of mashed potatoes which again lacked salt. The Fish and Chips were totally greasy and disgusting. My drink, when it finally arrived, was $11 which wasn't listed any where on the drink menu. This place completely sucked and is overpriced.

have seen many shows here but , don't care for the early entries into shows because they ate in the restraunt!!! I paid for a ticket just like them. 1st come 1st served. Thats what general admission stands for!!! the food in the eatery is average at best!! Reserving those stools and tables for your friends also sucks. SHould do away with them or 1st come 1st served!!!!!!!!1
