For a city known for its Browns, a new color has made a long-term mark in Cleveland at the House of Blues. Founded by actor and blues lover Dan Aykroyd, the club first opened in Cambridge, Mass., in 1992. Since then, many have come for the Mississippi Delta-style fare or its famous Sunday gospel brunch. But what has made this chain so popular is its capacity to feed the ears as well as the stomach. The Cleveland location, which anchors Downtown's East Fourth Street Project, has enough room for 1,100 concertgoers, and you can bet there isn't a bad spot in the house to see and hear the acts and enjoy the innovative happy hour. That includes a balcony that nearly hangs over the performers. Aside from the main concert hall, a smaller room allows for private parties, leisurely lounging and the occasional dance night. Expect a diverse cast of artists to take the stage. Within weeks of opening, Marilyn Manson, a reunited Raspberries, influential East Coast rapper Nas and ex-New Kid on the Block Jordan Knight all dotted the concert calendar. How's that for some bang for your buck?

House of Blues!
By Tjb7713 on 06/25/2008
I've seen multiple shows at House of Blues and have had great experiences everytime. It's one of my favorite Cleveland venues because of the size, and the vibe. It's big enough to attract big names, but small enough to be somewhat intimate. I also enjoy the style of the venue with all of the cool art and paint. I've also been to the restaurant a couple times and thought the food was great!

It's a shame that it's the worst venue in CLE
By StndCl on 06/17/2008
This place had so much potential. They need to stop giving comp tickets to underselling shows to people eating there. They just ruin the concert experience for the people there to see the bands. Keep the waitresses off the viewing floor. There's enough people trying to squeeze up front. You don't need any more.

HOUSE OF BLUES CLEVELAND SUCKS
By musicman11160 on 11/22/2007
I really was excited when the House of Blues came to Cleveland. I thought it woud be a great concert venue and another cool place to see blues and rock concerts. I WAS SO WRONG. I went to a show and found the place so overcrowded it was a waste of time. Instead of fighting the crowd on a packed general admission floor. My complaints to the staff of the show being over sold were met with pompus attitude. I WILL NEVER NEVER GO TO THE HOB AGAIN! I WILL NEVER TRUST HOB WITH MY MONEY OR TIME EVER!!
