Hatch Cover   

...the food is still mediocre, the atomosphere leaves much to be desired, the cleanliness factor ought be investigated by the Health Department, and the patrons are usually loud and rowdy. The new owners may be trying to change things, but they have to do more than try -- they need to clean it up. There is a real opportunity for the Hatchcover to be a top place in the neighborhood, and I hope that the new owners will be able to do what it takes to do it!

We have had the pleasure of a fine meal, tastefully prepared and served by a very attentive waiter. By my wife's standards and mine, (and we've eaten in restaurants all over the world,) this establishment is in very competent hands and to us it is in the class of Fine Dining. Cloth tablecloths and napkins may suggest an upper echelon restaurant but the "it's the steak, not the sizzle," that counts in the long run in a dining experience. I would talk my friends into giving this place a try, most definitely. I don't think they would be disappointed.

I have been in several times since Rob and Laura took over in January, and it is vastly improved in several areas...the food is excellent and reasonably priced, and the service is great! It's also a good place to watch football on Sundays. I saw one review referring to the Hatchcover as a "brewpub", but it is not, nor has it ever been advertised as such. I highly recommend it!

I think Rob and Laurie are going a terrific job reshaping the clientel and the resturant. I have brought my friends there for lunch as well as co-workers and family. I used to avoind the Hatch when it was under Joseph. I could never trust the bartender or any other of their employees. Now, I bring as many as I can find. Rob and Laurie are open to feedback from the public and make changes as they see needed. Their prices are fair and their food/service is quality all the way. Keep up the good work Rob and Laurie!!
