A Favorite Restaurant
By glenmonty49 on 11/06/2003
An outstanding Mexican food restaurant with an imaginative menu. Try the chicken mole dishes and the sampler appertizer. very good margaritas. Real nice ambience made even better by a recent remodel. Patio dining is a nice touch during good weather.

The Best Mexican Food in Town
By nothumbs2 on 09/28/2003
This place simply has the best Mexican food in town. The maragritas are pleasantly powerful, the dishes are freshly made, and the service is always friendly. We ALWAYS take guests here and recommend it for out-of-towners. The Ensenada Fish Tacos are tasty and the Chile Colorado are the best I've ever tasted.

When I Need A Fix
By creatrixina on 01/15/2003
I go here because the food is better than the Loop's (in Manitou).

One may get a little cabin fever in the booths becuase of the way it's designed: like a little cabin.

Flan? Eh? I ask the waiter, how's the flan, he says: 'They made a great batch' The flan is 'o.k.' I've had some really, really, really excellent flan...so..what in the heck is flan you ask? Uh...it's custard, that's the best way of explaining it. Many countries in Latin America make flan.

It's from the old French 'flaon' translated into Spanish it is 'flan' then to the middle English 'flaton'or simply custard...actually the recipe dates back all the way to ancient Roman times when eggs wree condsidered an aphrodesiac..(c'mon, EGGS/OVUM, you get the picture). Anyhow, I'd give their flan a B-.

I give their service an A- on a busy night.

I am going back next month to try out the Mole.

surprise and disappointment
By sharonl563 on 07/02/2002
surprise and disappointment....words that will fit this review. We have eaten here in the past with no complaints, but in June my group of women friends and I ate at this restaurant and we were very disappointed. I ordered the soup which tasted like seaweed. My friend ordered a salad which was very salty, as was my entree. When we commented to the waitress that we would like the soup taken off the bill because we simply could not eat it the manager told her that it was all a matter of individual taste and he would not remove it. We thought that put the waite staff in a bad position and asked to see the manager. He did take the soup off the bill but made no apologies or adjustments for our being unhappy with the other food we had ordered. In general not good public relations. We were very disappointed with our choice of restaurants and will not return because of the managers lack of skill handling these problems.
