Columbia has never been known for superior gay bars-- Atlanta and Charlotte ever too close. but if you don't look too carefully, PTs 1109,has become the center of the gay bar scene in Columbia. With a friendly atmosphere, you are bound to know or meet someone there. The music is loud and danceable, and the boy bar dancers are very frendly. But the characteristic that you notice first is the eclectic coposition of the patrons. Excluding a slight predomiance of Carolina Bears, the clientel at PTs is an interesting mixture of age, background, and sexual proclivity. This includes some spicey entertainmet each week by local transvestites. It doesn't start warming up until midnight, but from Cinderellla's hour'til 2 AM it's jumpin'.
