It's probably the most popular Asian restaurant in Columbia, and with good reason -- Chinese food doesn't get much better than at Sesame Inn. Fast and delicious, the restaurant is casual, but with a slightly upscale feel, although you'd never guess it by looking at the low prices on the menu. Lunch specials can cost as low as $2.75, and dinner entrees rarely go above $12. The house specialties include Double Happiness (shrimp and chicken with mixed vegetables, $11.50) and Bride and Groom (beef, chicken and veggies immersed in special sauce, $10.50). Chief chef Zheng's innovative menu has helped Sesame Inn become "Columbia's Best Chinese," so named in The State.

Rated BEST Chinese in Col. 5
By mckin700 on 11/02/2007
I have been eating here since they opened. I have never had a bad or semi bad meal. Lunch specials are great, free hot tea, free fried noodles and sauce, free soup ( I recommend the wonton), and generous servings. I can not eat beef so I always get a chicken meal, always white meat. I have never had a problem with flavor. I have eaten there many times with groups and, again, never a complaint. It is consistantly rated as Columbia's Best Chinese rastuarant.

tasteless
By godwinkel on 06/06/2007
I ordered the shrimp and mixed veggie dinner. The food had no taste, very bland. The so called white sauce was nothing more than cornstarch and water. It would be a very long time before dining there again.

Not Impressed
By jerispoon on 04/11/2007
I ordered take out because of all the good reviews I've read about this place over the years. I WAS NOT IMPRESSED. The food was tasteless and the place did not look clean when I went in to pick up my order. There are much, much better Asian restaurants (and close to Sesame Inn) for good prices.
