Ugly Tuna patrons are fishing, on many levels. They're mostly college students or recent alumni, (although infant seats and a sophisticated menu attract a smattering of children and Boomers). Which leads to the other lines frequently cast here, those pertaining to reeling in the opposite sex. An open, convivial bar with lots of colorful neon signs make it easy to land a live one. The Florida-imported decor works well, thanks to the light from the huge windows facing High Street and the non-stop event calendar. Libations vary from inexpensive domestic drafts and well drinks to ornate umbrella concoctions to huge "fishbowl" mixtures suitable for those guaranteed a designated driver. But nowhere on the cocktail menu will you find a listing for a "hurricane."
