Whiskey Dicks   

With the motto "At least the drinks are stiff" and with appetizers called "teasers," Whiskey Dick's sounds like a pickup joint. (Did we mention the name of the joint?) Indeed it may be, but there are also many other things going on; live music, karaoke and a "Bike Night" where you can win a free chopper. There are lots of NASCAR-centered events (what better excuse to gather for cocktails?) and diversions ranging from air hockey to 15 -- count 'em, 15 -- televisions. Lest you think it's all fun and games, the bar also helps sponsor events to raise money for various charities. And although the menu is mostly tavern food like pizza and nachos, the wings have garnered praise and even won a few local contests. (With sauces like assterburner, they certainly attract attention.) But here it's mostly about the hard-drinkin', fun-lovin', mostly middle-aged partiers. There's a large selection of beer and liquor, but if you want wine (or to whine), they'll cheerfully direct you to the fern establishment down the street.
