A triangular building with a slender tapered interior houses what must surely be Columbus's most uniquely shaped eatery. Named after the Flatiron Building in New York (there's a painting of the edifice on the wall), this eatery has a small dining area, with most of the available space being taken up by the bar. Choose from a flavorful array of appetizers like cornmeal fried oysters, jumbo shrimp, calamari and crawfish tarts. Soups range from a house gumbo to chorizo sausage while the lineup of salads encompasses Caesar, Cobb, and steak. Sandwiches, including several po'boys, provide a bit of the Big Easy. Then there's the barbecue, which has won raves from both foodies and critics alike. Start with the barbecue plate of andouille, smoky links and ribs, and then choose from pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs and accompaniments like coleslaw and green beans. It's as American as apple pie, which is also available.

New Orleans flavor & more

Great specials every day. I love the cornmeal dusted deep fried shrimp with remoulde (can't spell) appetizer. I go often and have decsions to make as to what sounds the best, I only have four or five dinner favorites (love the ribs). GREAT bartenders as well. The food is first rate, and varied with many New Orleans dishes, gumbo, crayfish pie, etc. Have heard raves about the catfish and the green beans as well. Roger likes the blues, so if the very varied jukebox isn't playing, there is something cool playing.
