Often overlooked or ignored, breakfast is one meal that deserves respect. And it gets it at Scrambler Marie's. Only open until 3PM, this cheerful setting with its green carpet and lamps, hanging plants and floral tablecloths serves up a cornucopia of morning goodies. But the food is hardly garden-variety; along with a number of healthy choices, there are three different kinds of eggs Benedict, including one with seafood and another consisting of vegetables. Some of the entrees sound cutesy -- macho types might feel awkward ordering "skincredible" potatoes and sassy apples with their Uncle Moose's Manhandler, a skillet of bacon, ham and other meats topped with two eggs. But it's all part of a menu that offers "mini" omelets of three eggs and "monster" ones made with six. Or choose from gourmet blends of eggs, including "Aaron's Way" with mushrooms, water chestnuts, cream cheese and dill served with Hollandaise. Those looking for something lighter can go with oatmeal, fresh fruit, a bagel or daily special soups and wraps.

Wished it stayed open later!

This is one of the best places to sit down for breakfast in town and not feel rushed. The food is good, as well as the service. I only wished it stayed open later!
