It's called the Thurman Burger, and it's an imposing presence: Weighing in at about three quarters of a pound, it encompasses a huge patty and several slices of ham, mozzarella and American cheese. A secret ingredient also helped garner numerous Best Burger accolades and draws people from all over. If Thurman Cafe's main attraction is a bit too much for you, you can always open up wide for a massive selection of other burgers, including mushroom offerings topped with a choice of pizza sauce, horseradish or just plain 'shrooms. Although the space is small, it's mighty popular. The funky interior, which has housed the family-owned restaurant since 1937, is littered with dollar bills signed by enthusiastic and perhaps alcohol-infused customers. It's so popular that on on a weekend night, you may have to resign yourself to an hourlong wait. Check out the subs, such as the Thurmanadelphia, with its blend of beef, lamb and sauteed onions; or wings and the crackerlike pizza thins. Yes, the portions are large, but they're served up with good-natured cheer, which makes you forgive Thurman Cafe for allowing you such gastromonic -- and criminal -- indulgences.

You Thurmanites who voted for the Thurman burger, obviously have not had the Beanie Burger from The Gahanna Grill - I've had the Thurman Burger and can honestly say that it's a slight step up from the Garbage Burger at Max & Erma's - but you aren't even able to compare it to the Beanie Burger, which is 10x's better!!!!!!!!
