Rate and Write a Review Looking to score some vegan? Since 1978, Whole World has been dishing up healthy grub, mostly for the vegetarian community, but with an increasing emphasis on vegan fare. The menu makes it perfectly clear what item can be prepared which way, so purists can breathe easy. But even carnivores should find something to tear into. A favorite is the way-better-than-it sounds broccoli burger, stuffed with brown rice, onions, bread crumbs and a dash of peanut butter. Or go for a tofu sloppy Joe with green peppers and onions. Pizzas come in herb and guacamole; or Oregon apple with both applesauce and sliced apples; in addition to individual toppings like (but of course) alfalfa sprouts, tofu and conventional pizza veggies. Patrons representing the full spectrum of alternative lifestyles and a rotating, eclectic selection of local art help enliven an interior otherwise rather devoid of atmosphere. You can get away with that when you've got an in-house bakery pumping out the downright therapeutic smell of cooking bread. -- Sandra Gurvis
