In addition to the pizzas, sandwiches, steaks, and grilled chicken dishes that are simply (yet somewhat artfully) prepared, diners get some unique services at the Speakeasy. The full premium bar serves only top-shelf (or very close to it) alcohol. Despite the importance of the bar, Speakeasy has a family environment that includes two playrooms: one for little kids and one for adults. The children's playroom, replete with video games, is somewhat enclosed, making it hard for the little buggers to sneak away unnoticed; there's pinball for the big kids. Moderately priced, dinner costs about $8 (steaks are $15), and the cool, homespun bar feel is easy to enjoy. Since the '70s, Speakeasy has been rooted in a homey neighborhood spot where people become regulars and go home happy. Lunch and dinner are served every day, and takeout is available.
