Best kept secret of this little cow town...

Still can get a table on a slow night without a reservation. We dined on Thursday, enjoyed live music "jamming" - some great local jazz and blues, with bass, guitar, drum set and sax wailing that sent shivers up my spine... But this is only a precursor to the main event - the cuisine at Fireworks. They call it "local, organic, wood fired" but let's add DELICIOUS, EXQUISITE, UNPARALLELED! Perfectly grilled wild salmon, succulently seared ribeye, creole prawns, grilled lamb burger in a fresh baked flatbread...oh yeah, and they make some killer pizzas too! Now those are the proteins, but this joint also spends what seems a painstaking amount of attention on the sides - jambalaya rice complete with spiced local pork sausage, jasmine rice with the subtlest seasoning, sweet potato fries with pasilla pepper remoulade, sauteed kale and fresh asparagus. The tastebuds are dancing! Of course, cocktails made with FRESH fruit mixers - passionfruit, mango, peach are featured in margaritas, mojitos, and martinis...local draft beers and wines also fill out the bar's fine offerings. Dessert anyone? Flourless chocolate torte, fresh peach pie, creme brulee, and dulce de leche cheesecake are excellently executed. But what about TAPIOCA - here it is concocted from coconut milk, fresh "Singing Dog" vanilla pods and maple syrup...yes, these are the large tapioca pearls, but you won't say these are "fish eyes in white glue", caviar seems a more apt allusion. The price - moderate, entrees range from mid-teens to mid-twenties, drinks very reasonable priced. Word to the wise, reservations a good idea on busy nights - Friday, Saturday and Sunday (one of the only places open in Corvallis on Sundays) Don't miss this place!

Lunch wraps to die for. Soup is great. Pizzas are good but the value depends on who you are. All food so far has been very creative, tasty, and very healthy. One of our top destinations.
