Since it opened more than 20 years ago, the revolving restaurant atop Reunion Tower has been a must on the list of places to take visiting out-of-towners. In its heyday, it was also a chic destination for hip locals. Having suffered some mood swings in the intervening years, Antares is enjoying a renaissance. Fifty floors up, the view of the Dallas skyline has always been exquisite. With a kitchen revamp, now the food is as well. Plan to enjoy your meal over the course of an hour or two. It takes an hour for the restaurant to do a complete revolution and you'll want to savor both the food and the view. Smoked salmon and Brie terrine, served with chive creme fraiche ($9) is a tempting beginning. Tantalizing entrees include grilled filet of beef and garlic sauteed shrimp served with wild mushroom risotto and Shiner Bock Beer sauce ($32) or nut-crusted salmon with mashed potatoes, fennel slaw and blackberry-vodka sauce ($24). After your meal, retire to the Dome Lounge for an after-dinner cocktail. And on Sundays, suck down mimosas at Antares' impressive champagne brunch buffet -- Gretchen Goetz

Perfect For a Special Occasion
By pepper114 on 08/17/2006
My boyfriend took me there this past Monday for our 1 year anniversary. He made all the plans himself and set the reservation for a table for two. The restaurant is so beautiful and rotates so slow that you don't even notice it. We had the Landmark Sirloin and it was awesome, we definitely recommend it. The service was perfect and took care of our every need, even without asking. The price is worth what you get. We were able to see the complete skyline in the daylight and again with it all lit up before we left. If you are looking for a special place to go for an extra special occasion, check out Antares you won't be dissapointed.

Special Treat for Grandkids

I have 8 grandchildren and have always taken each one to Antares to celebrate their 13th birthday (I have 3 grandchildren left to take). They love the excitement of dressing up and seeing the spectacular view of Dallas. I have always found the food good and the service excellent and seeing the excitement on their faces is worth the price of the meal.

I heard that the food was not that great before I went and that you get such small portions you wont get full but when I left I was very impresses. the steak was great and I was stuffed. It is pricey but the view is nice and is great for a special occasion.
