Despite being housed in a structure that might be generously described as "charmingly rustic," The Brick has long served as the premiere gay male dance club in the Dallas area (there are, after all, few others of the genre to be found this side of Fort Worth). Here, the circuit scene reigns supreme, and all of the sub-culture's associated trappings are present and accounted for; clubbers convene on the floor to dance to throbbing electronica and the occasional Top 40 hit, a successful hook-up need not require more than a few exchanged pleasantries, and almost everyone in the place seems to have spent a good portion of his life in the gym, only taking an occasional break from the free weights to bone up on the latest dance move. And as far as we can tell, the dress code requires patrons to arrive shirtless. The Brick also sports a whole host of weekly theme nights to keep things interesting -- or at least more interesting than usual.
