This elegant restaurant, tucked away in a generic row of shops at Royal and Preston, has developed a devoted following among those who enjoy authentic French cuisine. Though the location may be a bit inauspicious, the venue itself has a distinctive European feel. Small tables covered in crisp white linen pepper the intimate interior, accentuating the warm, sparse decor. The menu includes some well-chosen seafood dishes with an emphasis on fresh. Dover sole and lobster thermidor are prepared with great care by celebrated chef Jean LaFont. Rack of lamb, filet mignon, rich appetizers and an extensive wine list keep the venue busy. Open for lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch, it's the perfect destination for a rendezvous with that special someone. -- Bradley Harding

Did something change since '04

I was disappointed. The look of the dining area was nice and inviting. The waiter was not very helpful (or polite). After I ordered, he said dryly "Is that it?". The wine was good and the food came to the table quickly, but all of the food was so salty. The escargot sauce, the salad dressing, the onion soup--everything was salty. I won't be spending my money there again. Something must have changed since 2004, because the previous reviews were very positive.
