Dallas is the sort of city in which you'd expect to find more than a few semi-private clubs, and Cedar Springs is the kind of place where one might rightfully look for them. The presence of Medici brings a bit of much-needed polish to the surrounding area, combating pastel and plastic with dark mahogany and Spanish black marble. Aside from a preponderance of earth tones, Medici also maintains a rather select clientele (many are single!) for dancing and lounging. Only those who have just finished dining at nearby Nick & Sam's (the upscale steakhouse operated by Medici's owners), have had the good fortune to receive a personal invitation from the management, or happen to be milling about outside the entrance from 9 to 10:30PM, are allowed inside.

this place is way OVERRATED!!!

I am reformed bartender, and a long time bar parton, I know what I am talking about. This place is okay at best. They think alot more about themselves than anybody else does. Bad things: Way overpriced. A bottled beer is $5, average shot is $10. (2 shots of jager was $18). Premiums and super premiums are even more. People there are not very nice, (customers or clientele). A bunch of bratty rich kids. Way too small and cluttered. Good thing: Aestetically, it is very nice. There is an Asian bartender that kicks ass. And on crowded nights when the door man will only let his friends in, there is a back door about 20 feet to the right of the front door (still on the front of the building) that you can walk in. It is unmanned, and not visible to employees.

My first and only encounter at Medici was horrible. If you want to enjoy the place don't say anything to the bouncers...a couple didn't get in because he had "an attitude problem" after getting hit by a cab! True story. I hate people that think they have deep pockets.
