Rate and Write a Review Behind the gray stone walls of an urban castle, and the fish-filled moat that surrounds it, lies the rare opportunity to watch real-life knights go head-to-head in an 11th-century jousting tournament. Straddling majestic Andalusion stallions whose footwork is as fancy as Fred Astaire's, a half-dozen knights in full regalia warm up for battle with friendly competitions. But piercing rings and tossing javelins are merely a precursor to the thrilling hand-to-hand combat that follows. You know it's real when the sharp crack of wooden lance against metal shield precedes an explosion of splintery bits and the soft thud of man hitting sand. It's a worthwhile show, despite the trade-offs: You must wear a paper crown a la Burger King and eat watery broth and sticky baked chicken without utensils. Kids will love it for the chance to get tapped as an honorary knight before the show. Men will love it for the testosterone-induced joy of the fast-action jousting. Women will love it because the knights are hot. -- Allison Hatfield
