Martini Heaven
Michael's is a nice little resaurant tucked away on 7th street behind the Museum District--across the street from the 4*** Coffee Bar and in the same stip mall as Escargot.
You can either go in through the restaurant entrance, or from the separate one leading straight to the bar area. Gucciloafer suggests skipping the meal, unless you really feel the need to spend 30 bucks on two pieces of quail and a carrot. By that I mean the menu is more form over substance.
The real gem here is the bar. It's always happening and is kind of like Charleston's, but smaller and less cramped. The crowd is sometimes older, but Gucciloafer has seen the odd TCU crowd here. Either way, they just as well turned out as any place. Try one of the Martinis on the extensive list. But be warned, they are expenseive, but very strong.
Gucciloafer recommends a classic, dry, vodka martini. One is enough. You can get a Manhattan or all kinds of flavoured ones too.
Not as good as Martini Ranch, but for Fort Worth, it's as good as it gets. Two other places are worth mentioning for Martini's: Sol Y Luna and the fabulously trendy Rio Mambo Tapas bar in that old hotel, both located on Houston Street downtown FW. Ask for Rebecca at the Tapas bar. Until then, try Michael's.
