With two locations in the north Dallas area, Cafe Italia provides a low-key, yet elegant, dining experience. Deep rich colors dominate the dining rooms, but the decor is simple and understated with white tablecloths and soft lighting. Cafe Italia specializes in Southern Italian cuisine at reasonable prices, offering traditional items like veal marsala and lasagna bolognese, as well as more southern-inspired dishes such as lobster ravioli in a lobster bisque and deep fried smoked chicken lasagna. The dress code ranges from casual for lunch to business casual or dressy for dinner, and reservations are suggested. Open for lunch and dinner, Cafe Italia also offers catering and banquet services at both of the Dallas locations. -- Kimberly Williams

The Grapevine location is the best
By el75019 on 06/29/2008
I am absolutely in love with Cafe Italia. It's the closest to Italy you can get without an italian grandmother or a passport. Their calamari is the best i've had and it's something I always get, a real crowd pleaser. The atmosphere is great, not over the top, and the music selection is perfect without being "cliche italian restaurant".

The real deal is in Grapevine
By NKDREX on 06/09/2008
There are two Cafe Italia restaurants in Grapevine, owned and run by a chef from New Jersey. These are not related to the Dallas location and, as a New York transplant, I can tell you that the Grapevine restaurants are much much better. Their red sauce is amazing, and every dish is special. So is the service. Don't miss out on the real deal. Come to the original Cafe Italia in Grapevine.

OMG great food.
By Fuzzywhumper62 on 06/06/2008
I have met the owners as they sponsored a non profit organization that I work with. They had donated a lunch to our event. The food was great then, so we went to try the restaurant and I am so glad we did. It was heavenly. Crowded and that usually puts me off. We waited about fifteen minutes to be seated and believe me it is worth the wait. Everything we have had on the number of visits we have returned for is perfect. My father always said you can judge a restaurant by the number of cars in the parking lot. Well, this place is packed every night but never have I had a bad experience. I can say I would recommend this restaurant to everyone I meet!

DISAPPOINTING!!!
By lovegranmama on 04/03/2007
Service was poor. The staff we talking among themselves using profanity near the bar/kitchen, we were seated in the front and heard them clearly. No one checked back to see if we needed anything or if everything was OK after the meal was served. We were not told any specials or soup of the day but over heard our server tell other tables. Food was mediocre. Galic bread was not crusty- more like slices of white bread painted with butter substitute. The atmosphere was crowded though there were only 3 other tables filled during the time we were there. After reading other reviews I was looking forward to a positive experience and good southern Italian food. Boy waas I disappointed!
