The only place in town serving great coffee, herbal teas, the best vegetarian food in town and yes, enlightenment. With its wall murals depicting enchanting Hindu mytholgical figures, the Cosmic Cafe is a favorite with the Dallas Bohemian scene and anyone who wants a unique dining experience. If you need meat to call it a meal, you will have to find somewhere else to feast on the flesh of reincarnated souls, as the Cosmic is all vegetarian. The Cosmic Cafe is as fulfilling to the spirit as the palate.

Nothing but GOOD stuff to say
By beautiline on 02/11/2008
This was my first visit to a vegetarian restaurant and I have to say it went beyond my expectations. I sampled 2 different entrees and everything I tasted was delicious! I was very sad to learn that it burned down yesterday and will be watching for them to rebuild and open.

Provides much-needed variety, and you can bring your dog

I had a good experience at the Cosmic Café. The service was good, the food was great (I had one of the pizzas), and the atmosphere was relaxing; you would hardly know you're near the downtown of a major city except for the automobile traffic. It's great to find a restaurant that serves vegetarian fare, because it means you'll have a lot more food options than at most other restaurants where options are limited to pasta or salad. Also, this place is dog friendly - dogs are allowed on a restricted portion of the patio. This means people who want to take their pets with them to lunch can do so, and since there is only a specific part of the patio reserved for customers with pets (it is a foot or so lower than the rest of the patio and very well partitioned), those with animals will not bother other patrons eating outside.

i worked there
By atmtim2003 on 06/03/2004
i waited tables there for a year and the way they handles the food is unbelievable.. and the soups for the day are usually left out all night. AND, the chia tea and coffee's are left out also and we had to just re-heat it in the mornings... plus the business there is done illigally.. the mexican workers busting there asses in the back are illigal and get paid only 40 bucks a day by proveen(the manager), who also by the way live illigally in the little house behind the restaurant...thanks--

BlueOcean5000's Review

I can not say enough great things about this place. It is addictive. I have been there several times and each time is better than the last. The owner Praveen is very visable and takes pride in all his entrees. They even recently added edemame with indian spices. In addition there is free yoga classes given above the resturant 4 days a week....
