The Spanish translation of La Casita is "small house" and is often a guest house. Never before has a definition been as applicable as it is in the case of this five-table Mexican restaurant on Lower Greenville. Owner Rina Martinez does everything for her guests at this off-the-beaten-path cubby hole. And when we say everything, we mean everything. This one-woman-show is the cook, the waitress, the hostess, the cashier... basically all there is to do in a restaurant. With Spanish oldies playing softly in the background, she serves homemade Mexican food at bargain prices until 5AM Tuesday through Saturday, with each item on the menu named for a member of her family. Don't worry if you feel a bit awkward the first time you say, "I'll have the Juan, please," because the food is well worth it. In-the-know Dallasites and late night partygoers with the munchies know about La Casita. Now you do, too!

We were out late enjoying the Nightlife in Low Greenville. This night we skipped dinner to catch an early show and around 11:30ish we found ourselves getting hungry. We started asking the people that work in this area, “where is a good place to eat?” We wanted something good and something we haven’t tried in this area and everyone pointed us to this small restaurant down the street called La Casita. It took us a few times walking down the street to find the place because we weren’t sure where it was but I’m so glad we didn’t give up. There is not a lit sign above the restaurant but there is a sign. No one was able to tell us the name of the restaurant so maybe this is why we had such a hard time finding it. When you walk into the restaurant it is so cozy, almost like I was at my grandmother’s house. This was awesome. Since this was our first time to eat here we were unsure what to choose off the menu. So we decided to get different dishes so we could try each other’s meal. Oh my goodness, I can’t explain how great this food was. Everything was so fresh and so wonderful. This restaurant has made our top 5 places to go eat in the DFW area. Go out and try this wonderful restaurant. I know we will be going back soon.
