Join an energized crowd every night of the week at this double-decked Cajun eatery smack in the middle of diverse Oak Lawn. They've got a whale of a spicy seafood menu from which to choose appetizers and entrees. Pasta Mardi Gras is a favorite mainliner -- linguini with crawfish and andouille, simmered with mushrooms in marinara cream, topped with jumbo gulf shrimp. Oysters on the half shell take a prize for their freshly iced platter presentation. Eat at the marble-top bar in the main dining room, or dive into one of the ante areas. The Dixieland band twangs banjo nightly, swinging you into the N'awlins party spirit. The staff caters to your whims, offering the best in Deep South hospitality and extraordinarily fine tasting Cajun dishes. Prices are moderate, but parking is difficult. Come as you are, but get there early. -- Barb Boody

Is this the category for "Best Frozen Seafood" in DFW?
By TDParker1001 on 06/02/2008
I think that this is a great place for the casual dining segment in Dallas. When I see it listed next to several of Dallas' fine dining restaurants that feature "flown in fresh daily" seafood, like that of The Oceanaire, which I conisder the Mecca for the best seafood in Dallas, which is shown by their chalk boards, freight tags showing the fish flown in between 13-24 hours from the catch, and then see it next to Pappadeux? I think that the categories need to be further grouped as some of these restaurants are rated the best in Zagat, Wine Spectator, Dallas Morning News, DiRoNA, etc...what a shame that they are all lumped into the same category...escpecially by a good company like Papas, but McDonald's is a good company aswell. I guess that "prepared, frozen" food is the standard these days and that those other fine dining restaurants are wasting their time with providing the freshest product they can find.
