Tuck your legs under, and spin around on a purple stool just like the good old days and shout out "gimme a burger and a chocolate malt." The 1950s attitude draws crowds with hot, thick, juicy burgers (a mainstay) along with cherry Cokes, milkshakes and other simple but oh-so-good fare. The decor is a trip back in time -- think bobby socks and poodle skirts. Check out the little purple train on the overhead tracks. Remember the Dreamsicle? That orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream mix on a stick? It's reborn in all its glory, but the kids beg for the purple ice cream dessert before they get their piled-high chili dogs. They're afraid they won't have enough tummy room! Relive the '50s with Buddy Holly and the King of Blue Suede Shoes in the background. A great menu for kids and adults and the prices are cheap -- nothing over $6 -- and that's a real treat in itself. -- Barb Boody

It was going back in Time

My daughter took me there when I flew in from Germany where I live. I belong to the bobby socks and poodle skirts era and I really enjoyed the visit as well as the food. Of course it isn`t exactly the same as back then but then nothing is exactly as the original. You can bet your bottom dollar when I am in Dallas again I will return to the Purple Cow for a trip back to my childhood. Oh! forgot to mention that I am 67 years old so if you count back in time, the forties, fifties and sixties were the golden years for me.
