For a Japanese restaurant, Blue Fish is unusually loud -- in decor and often in volume. Every person at every table is pretty, trendy and immaculately dressed (the waitstaff is pretty cute, too), and the whole joint has a decidedly Los Angeles flavor to it. Whether you like that kind of scene or not, fans of Japanese food have have a hard time resisting this perennial hot spot. Along with perfectly turned out sushi and sashimi basics, Blue Fish serves up an assortment of funky, unusual rolls, wonderful yakatori and other Pan-Asian offerings. Select from an extensive sake list, printed up wine-list style, or order up a classic cocktail. Either way, you run the risk of singing loud and boisterous songs by the time the night is over. Not that such a thing ever really happens at Blue Fish -- those people are way too cool to get snookered. -- Bryan Lindsey

Excellent food!

Everything I have had here is excellent. I have had sushi and have tried a lot of the rolls. The best is the Sundae roll. I'm addicted. I have tried the N. Dallas and Las Colinas locations. Service has been good every time I've been. I either dine-in or do take-out once a week on average. All my friends love Blue Fish too.

Bad Management
By secretshopper12 on 05/15/2007
I was reviewing the quality of Blue Fish's atmosphere and food, when my experience was rudely imposed upon by a manager who exhibited little class if any management skills by verbally abusing one of his waitresses in front of myself and other restaurant onlookers. My waitress was a very pleasant young lady from Russia who attended to my every need, but this manager, by the name of Jin, had placed myself and my waitress in an embarrassing situation that ruined my whole experience. My review will be reflecting bad management.

Great Food
By alee007 on 02/20/2007
One of the truly best food I have ever had. Fish is very fresh because they move their fish due to thier high volume. Excellent service and staff. Do not forget the awesome appetizers and deserts to finish off the meal. Thier location in North Dallas (Frankford and the Tollway) has a very active bar scene, specially on Thursdays. Check out the beautifule people while you eat beatifully prepared food. Excellent overall.

Blue Fish in Irving was terrible. poor service, old fish, bad attitude by waitstaff. Too many other sushi places to waste my time here.
