Food has always been great. Service is sometimes questionable, but a short discussion works out details. Been going for 16 years and food by Chef Dean is fine. Service on first floor is always better than on second. Go figure.

bad, very bad

the service was slow and the food was not prepared the way it was ordered. I ordered red beans and rice and she ordered fish. The restraunt did not have a lot of people in it. They were slow to bring out the tea and then after 45 minutes they came out and brought the fish. We had asked for no almonds and the fish had almonds on it! At that time they told me that they were out of red beans and rice and ask me to reorder! What the world! Again hardly no one in the restraunt and we waited 45 minutes to get the fish not prepared properly and to be told that no red beans and rice! Then they demanded us to pay! I am from La. and would recomend Red Lobster, or Landry's in Huntsville off 565.

This is a unique restaurant and reminds its patrons of how it used to be in "old town" long ago. The food is excellent, however, the portions are too small and the lack of a salad bar is a minus in my opinion. It is a very friendly place and the service is excellent (slow at times), but the noise level is much too loud and the tables are much too close! There is no question about it being one of Decatur's (maybe the only one) more upscale eating establishments. I failed to mention that it is a bit pricey for what you get, but having said all that, either you love the place or you don't; the choice of where you are going to dine at a particular time still remains your decision to make!!!!
