Rate and Write a Review Every era has its counterculture intellectual revolution. The '50s had beatniks; the '70s had punks; and the new millennium has its dark-glasses-wearing, college-rock-listening, corporation-eschewing crew of skinny, brainy culture snobs; call them the ironigencia. If you too like your entertainment highbrow and your humor dry, you'll find yourself among friends at the Thin Man, a classy, corridor-like bar uptown that offers an artful atmosphere, eccentric clientele and among its strictly on-tap beers behind the white-marble bar, the ironigencia's inexplicable ale-of-choice, Pabst Blue Ribbon. At just 14 feet wide and 65 feet long, the Thin Man is certainly one of Denver's skinniest bars, although its name also refers to the acclaimed comedy-crime film series of the 1930s and '40s. Great film is actually one of the Thin Man's passions, as the bar offers a weekly film series on Sunday nights and serves as the site for the Inflatable Duck Film Festival, an annual celebration of independent film. The bar is located in the same old single-story brick building as the similar-minded St. Mark's Coffeehouse, under the same ownership.
