There's a handful of Denver-area restaurants that make it on the top dining lists year after year and the Briarwood Inn is consistently one of them. The interior is beautiful, filled with antiques, beautiful table settings and fireplaces. The staff is as polished as the china and the food is nothing short of spectacular. Dinners include a beautiful array of appetizers, including fresh shrimp, pate, cheeses and crackers, and for dessert there's fresh fruit and brownies. Sunday brunch is also lavish, with a mound of muffins and fresh fruit as the first course. Finish off the sumptuous morning feast with a delectable souffle or omelet. The perfect place for that special occasion, the waitstaff has been privy to a lot of question-popping and other special events. Tucked in the foothills of Golden, it's a quick drive from Denver and certainly worth the trip.

Gone Way Downhill!!!!!!
By lisaandwilljones on 11/29/2007
We used to frequent this restaurant until the staff was so unprofessional and lazy (it took 35 minutes to even be asked what we would like to drink and 2 hours before our food arrived!) that I doubt we will ever go again. The food was okay but certainly not up to my standards for paying $60+ per person for a meal!!!!

Not the best by far!
By martismith7 on 03/18/2007
Anyone who has been going there for many years, knows this restaurant is far from what it use to be. The service is spotty, the food is not prepared with care, and the leftover fruit and sweets plate is thrown in a box and is not worth eating later. The prices do not match the quality of the preparation. Bread and rolls are not offered in a white table cloth restaurant! Yes the ambiance is wonderful, if you are willing to give up the food preparation. A much better alternative is the Greenbriar outside of Boulder. A five star chief and amazing care can be found in a French-style country home.
