Another top addition to Larimer Square, the Capital Grille is an elegant and opulent steakhouse in the tradition of Morton's, transcending its chain-restaurant status with uniquely exquisite cuisine, service and decor. The size of the glossy menus -- literally about two feet tall by one foot wide -- reveal the Capital Grille's flair for amplitude, a theme that runs through the size of the steaks (the signature dry-aged Porterhouse is 24 oz.), the wealth in the oversized decor (marble countertops, mahogany booths, leather banquettes), the 400-plus options in the wine cellar and the large, brightly lit open kitchen in the rear of the dining room, which also expands into four private rooms. Also larger-than-life is the steakhouse's appeal among executives, celebrities, sports stars and other high-rollers. Beyond the Porterhouse, the menu includes several deluxe steaks and chops, and a handful of seafood entrees like the lobster and the shrimp scampi with roasted tomatoes over linguini. Try a side of Sam's creamy mashed potatoes.

Best Steak in Town.

By far the best steakhouse in Denver. They had this horseradish filet that was on special that is probably the best steak I have ever tasted. Also my waiter was outstanding. After finishing a bottle of wine I was given a free glass of wine while my girlfriend finished her drink. I highly recommend.

There is no question the dry ages steaks at the Capital Grille are the best in Denver. The atmonsphere is that of an old club with excellent service.

Marvelous food and service

We took our son and granddaughter out for birthday celebration. They were most accomodating to change our seating to be away from the smokie bar. They had no problem with splitting salads and an entree for my wife and granddaughter. The food was superb! We are going back for our 50th this week.

Impressive

Had the opportunity to be in a party of 12 on a busy Tuesday night in March. We waited in the crowded bar briefly, and were ushered into our reserved table. The menu was tremendous-a great mix. I chose the Boneless Sirloin and was not disappointed. I have been in the meat business since 1965, and I rate the steak that I had as excellent. Very flavorful, trimmed and cooked to perfection. The waiter was fantastic---he was able to discuss the wine list in detail, took great care of us, and laid a handful of his business cards on us at the end of the meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience !!
