It might be a disparaging thought to some that their parents once frequented this young, hip place. But this venerable watering hole in Capitol Hill has displayed uncanny staying power. Outdoors, the comfortable deck fills up early with a young, vibrant crowd ogling and sizing each other up. Inside, the joint swarms with sports fans, trivia addicts, pool sharks and beer-bellied regulars who praise the unbeatable happy hour specials (two-for-ones that apply to the margaritas, draft beers and Long Island iced teas). As for grub, most of it is standard, but the burgers are top-drawer: juicy, big and priced right. Those in the know get here early on summer days and Fridays, when the line often wraps around the block. -- Lori Midson

It's a Great Place

I have NEVER had a bad experience here. Yes, parking can sometimes be a pain but it is well worth it. Gov's Park has a reputation all it's own that has been well deserved. If you want to get together with friends and enjoy a night out, this place. Never boring, never lame. Always something exciting at this place. I'd highly recommend it!!!!

Govs Park, could be a great place to drink, if you could get a seat. I have turned up ther at 6pm there were at least 10 tables free, all with reserved signs on them, even space at a standing area! and this was for a quiz night. Oh yes can I mention the crappy margeritas and mica and cockroaches in the bathrooms. Go to Charlie Browns' on Grant for a real bar, this bar sucks.
