One of the most stylish live music venues in town, this sensual cabaret in the basement of the historic D&F Clocktower lures a classy, cosmopolitan crowd with its mix of music and comedy. The dim-lit showroom, owned by well-known local songstress Lannie Garrett, goes for a Victorian-brothel meets Dada-exhibit look with clusters of chenille-draped tables surrounded by curved, burgundy-cushioned booths, mismatched chairs, walls of weathered mirrors, hand-blown glass light fixtures and antique chandeliers dangling everything from cowboy boots to clocks. The sprawling stage welcomes piano bar crooners, vocal impressionists, vaudeville comedy acts and Lannies own performances, including her often sold-out Patsy DeCline Show, a Country and Western spoof. Alert and personable cocktail servers pour champagne, wine, microbrews and snazzy cocktails, including the Lannitini with pomegranate vodka, pomegranate juice and champagne. The short menu features fancified finger foods, such as an international cheese plate, shrimp cocktail, a platter of pates and a Mediterranean sampler of hummus, baba ganoush, olives and flatbread. For a sweet finish: the crisp-crusted wafers studded with pralines and topped with chocolate mousse, of course
